Welcome to The VeloCoach

At the Velodrome in Manchester on the way to a Bronze Medal 500m TT 70+ Cat

I am a British Cycling 'Level 2 Club Coach' and an Association of British Cycling Coaches 'Coach'. I am 70+ years old and have been a Racing Cyclist for more than 50 years. I started Road Racing in 1952 and also raced on the Track at Fallowfield in Manchester in 1960 and 61. Now I race mainly on the Track at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester where I also work part time as a Coach.

Whether you are new to racing or have some experience I can help with advice, on both Training and Tactics, especially if you race on the Track. However it is only possible to offer advice on 'specific' queries via the internet or through correspondence. For Coaching to be effective a Coach and Rider should meet face to face and develop a relationship based on mutual respect. The main objective for any Coach should be to help his or her rider to improve their performance and achieve their potential.
